Blocky Air Force is a vertical-scrolling shoot'em up where you explore settings and must defeat enemies which appear on the screen. The best thing about it, apart from an appearance reminiscent to the 3D minimalism of Minecraft, are its clear references to all kinds of movie, TV, and videogame characters.
As the game moves forward, a whole host of even more powerful enemies and bosses pop up, including anything from giant arachnids to the DC universe Joker, as well as other enormous monsters which top off each setting. References go from Dragon Ball characters, Marvel heroes or icons from the the Star Wars universe. In addition, your ship can be piloted by well-known faces which can be unlocked by opening the treasure chests you receive at the end of every game or in the checkout area.
Blocky Air Force is an appealing shoot'em up with a fair degree of difficulty and loads of references to popular characters which adds that extra touch of variety to the experience.
